Today, many people are having to find a more acceptable place to live, and often end up in refugee camps, unprepared for the new conditions. This publication looks at the possibilities for setting up structural support for refugees in order to remove them from these awful, if safe, conditions. In a world where for some the conditions of life are unbearable because of violence, environmental degradation or lack of economic perspectives, more and more people have chosen to find a more acceptable place to live. In some situations, the flow of people has been sudden and massive. This is especially so in parts of the world where the emergency situation is acute. These people usually end up in refugee camps and they are not well prepared for the new conditions. The same applies to the health care workers who have to deal with the problem of these refugees. This publication looks at the possibilities for setting up structural support for refugees in order to remove them from these awful, if safe, conditions. |
