Quilting is an art, a form of expression. Emotional and inspirational, quilting can also be therapeutic, like writing essays. For Lorie Kleiner Eckert, quiliting and writing are all of these things and more. To capture moments in her life, the author does not paint or write poetry. She uses a needle and thread -- she makes quilts. Presented here are a collection of some of her favorite quilts and the stories behind them. "Measuring Up" reminds the reader, and the author, that everyone is special and should not be compared to others. "Eclectic Learning" reveals what a true genius already knows: that knowledge can be found anywhere. Books, street signs, comic strips, and movies are all excellent sources of information, knowledge, and inspiration. "Lessons from Super Bowl XXIII" teaches that opportunities, even opportunities to celebrate, need to be seized, lest they be lost. The other essays and quilts equally inspire, teach, and comfort. |
