She had three older brothers and five younger sisters (and a younger brother). Her paternal grandparents emigrated from Denmark to Utah in the 1870s. Her maternal grandparents came from England to Utah in the 1860s. Both families brought with them the beginnings of a strong LDS (Mormon) heritage. Nelda married Orion Perry Memmott in 1936. They had three boys, each with their own stories to tell. Nelda taught elementary school for 35 years while her husband was an Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad. Nelda's is a story of love and affection as unique and personable as anything Frank Capra ever brought to the screen! |
