Zafer Senocak by Tom Cheeseman & Karin Yesilada

Zafer Senocak Zafer Senocak is an important German literary voice from the over two-million-strong Turkish community in Germany. He is primarily a poet, short story writer, novelist and librettist (as well as translator/editor of classical and contemporary Turkish literature in German). His essays explore taboo and repressed aspects of relations between Occident and Orient, Europe and Islam. This text follows the pattern of the other volumes in the "Contemporary German Writers" series. It opens with previously unpublished material by Senocak, and includes a biographical essay and interview, as well as essays addressing all aspects of his work. The series aim is to provide accessible introductions to contemporary German writers and to offer critical approaches to their work.
