Presents 42 landscape architecture projects from Dublin to Athens. The projects are supplemented by seven essays on European cartography, the cultivated landscape, the intellectual history of landscape architecture, the development of suburbia, the profession, and pioneers in the field.Europeans today no longer develop their cities on virgin land, but on former agricultural land.
